50 Taters 2 & Restaurant

Food: 5 Service: 5 Ambiance: 5 I was looking for southern cooking and found it at 50 taters. Now when I heard "50 taters", I imagined a pile of 50 tater tots smothered in cream cheese, bacon, scallions, butter, etc etc lol That was not the case. These baked potatoes are HUGE. I mean, these potatoes are getting all the love they can get to grow to these massive sizes. I got catfish and it was perfectly seasoned, flakey, and had a nice crisp texture. It wasn't over oily/slimey. Really good catfish. Hubby got the chicken fried chicken which was thick and juicy, other orders included the steak specials and the Rueben. The waitress asked everyone to cut into their steak to make sure they were cooked correctly. They weren't (lol) but it was an easy fix as we swapped steaks haha Now, I am by no means a southern food connoisseur...but I know the food here was good. Hush puppies were delicious. I don't normally like slaw, but the slaw was good. Oh! And the prices! Great! I thoroughly enjoyed my catfish plate here. Service was very friendly and helpful.

Was in the area for a funeral. I had not been to Rainsville in a long time and it has really grown. With a name like 50 Taters, I had to pull in and check it out. I saw the Bama Cheesesteak on the menu...pulled pork, jalapeños, cheese, white BBQ sauce. I had never seen a sandwich like that before, but what could be wrong with all that? It was delicious, as were the sweet potato fries. The servers were sweet, and the food came out quickly. I would go back. I did consider the Cuban, but I'm glad I went with the Bama Cheesesteak. I saw where another poster criticized there Cuban for lack of tomato and choice of Swiss cheese. I don't think I have ever seen a legit Cuban with a tomato, and Swiss cheese is the standard.

We have enjoyed 50 Taters for a long time. There are two locations - one in Scottsboro, AL and one in Rainsville, AL. Today we had lunch in Rainsville. The service is great! All the servers are sweet and will grab what you need even if you're not their "table". The food is always so good! I definitely suggest the stuffed tater. Their BBQ is delish. The ambiance is much like a family style restaurant. Clean and comfy! Check them out! No pics this time - I forgot :) I was eating too fast!

Everything we have tried here has been good but the Brisket Sandwich is amazing! We have never been disappointed with the service either.

Dam good food!!!!!!! Get sweet potatoes with Carmel sauce. Couldn't say anything negative. People working here are friendly, have personality, knowledgeable of there menu. Very nice clean atmosphere.

Good classic American food with friendly staff. Hd the pulled pork and while it was slightly overdone it did have great flavor to it.

The best place to eat in northern Alabama!! Everything that my Lady & I have eaten here is very good & fresh tasting!!! Staff is extremely friendly & helpful! A must try place anytime you are in the Fort Payne, Rainsville, AL area!!!
